Director / Senior Manager, Overhead Door & Dock Leveler Division

Orion Group is establishing a new business line focused on overhead door and dock leveler installation, repair, and maintenance. The Director / Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the launch and growth of this new division, including hiring a team, driving strategy, and ensuring profitability within 18 months.

Responsibilities

Build and lead the new Overhead Door & Dock Leveler division from inception to profitability
Hire, train, and manage account/service coordinators and support staff, as well as technicians and field managers (employees or vendors)
Establish vendor relationships, equipment sourcing, and standard operating procedures
Drive business development through existing relationships, targeted outreach, cross-sell/up-sell of company customer base, and partnerships
Ensure operational excellence, safety, quality, and compliance across all projects
Manage financial performance to achieve a positive ROI within 18 months
Collaborate with leadership to integrate systems into existing company operations

Required

10+ years in facility maintenance, commercial door, or dock leveler operations
Proven experience launching or scaling a service division or branch P&L
Strong trade and technical understanding of overhead doors, dock equipment, and related hardware
Network of service coordinators, technicians, foremen, and/or customers
Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and develop teams
Customer-focused mindset with experience serving multi-site commercial or industrial accounts
Build and lead the new Overhead Door & Dock Leveler division from inception to profitability
