Responsibilities

Serves as the primary liaison between the Branch Chief and the Investigations Branch (IB) Personnel Security Specialists, Leads a team with Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearances responsible for work with information in classified systems

Makes appropriate decisions relating to preemployment screening, interim clearance or temporary eligibility determinations, and investigation requirements

Applies knowledge of Federal requirements to recommend actions on personnel security matters and cases that involve issues requiring resolution of difficult material

Reports findings to Branch Chief from conducted analytical studies

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National

Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation

Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service

To qualify for GS-13, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12

Applies comprehensive knowledge of Federal Investigative Standards to obtain all components of personnel vetting scenario based on position sensitivity

Conducts pre-employment screening and determines interim clearance or temporary eligibility access

Disseminates procedures through written documentation, verbal instruction and/or training sessions

Conducts quality control assessments
