Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of the annual budget as part of a team
Develops working papers for assigned funds in the budget
Assists in preparation of annual budget by coordinating assigned Department/Agency budget submissions, utilizing County-wide network
Analyzes departmental budget requests for assessment of budget needs; assists with the coordination and publication of certain budget documents; assists assigned departments with the monitoring of their budgets
Identifies and resolves budget problems for departments and informs appropriate staff about budget inefficiencies and works with them on the maintenance and review of proper budgetary controls
Builds rewarding relationships with departments to assist with problem solving and process improvements
Prepares appropriation entries as approved by the Board of Supervisors in the County accounting system; reviews and reconciles on a monthly basis the annual approved appropriations to the accounting system
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
Some experience in general accounting, preferably governmental accounting
General knowledge of governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and budgeting
General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and governmental accounting standards
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Personal computer experience using Microsoft Office Software
Preferred
Experience using website content management software
Experience using Tyler Munis financial software
