GKN Aerospace is reimagining air travel and is seeking Engineering Interns to participate in the design and evaluation of production processes. The role involves supporting projects, improving production processes, and collaborating across functions to deliver excellence.

Responsibilities

Working on projects and supporting a team to find the best solutions

Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives

Helping to maintain performance within your team and for GKN as a company

Building relationships both within GKN and with our external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams to deliver excellence

Develop technical solutions to complex problems

Responsible for technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production

Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances

Design these processes with a high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such. Accountable for product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation

Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers. Facilitate improvements in production processes by implementing Lean initiatives and leaning forward

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in an engineering field such as: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field

Must have completed your sophomore year or later in your current program

Local candidates only (relocation, work sponsorship and/or housing not available)

Must be a US Citizen due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements

Capability to work effectively in a variety of engineering and manufacturing assignments

Keen interest in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry

Proficient in Microsoft Applications

Team player with excellent planning and organization skills

Effective communication and writing skills. Attention to detail is critical
