Responsibilities

Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents

Conducting legal research and writing

Managing matters from pretrial through trial

Handling a variety of litigation matters as needed

Managing all aspects of discovery

Analyzing insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions or other coverage analyses

Required

Excellent academic credentials

3-4 years of complex litigation experience

Proven analytic ability

Strong writing and analytical skills

Ability to communicate research into meaningful written work product

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues

Sound judgment and keen attention to detail

3-4 years of experience in a law firm is required

Strong writing and case management skills

Direct experience handling clients and adversaries

Excellent oral advocacy skills

Admission to, and good standing with, the State of Illinois Bar

Submission of a cover letter, résumé, law school transcript, and writing sample

Preferred

Experience in complex insurance coverage litigation

Deposition and court experience is preferred

Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship experience is a plus

Insurance coverage litigation experience is a plus
