Conducting basic and/or applied research independently or with other faculty
Publishing research in scholarly journals
Interacting with graduate students
Submitting competitive research proposals
Participating in outreach and community engagement efforts
Financially support themselves and their research programs, in collaboration with existing IoE faculty, through external contracts and grants or through other appointed FIU funding mechanisms
