Temporary Equipment Room Assistant
Syracuse University is a private, international research university with a rich history and diverse offerings. They are seeking a Temporary Equipment Room Assistant primarily responsible for assisting with the purchasing and receiving of athletic apparel and equipment, while also managing inventory and ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations.
Public Relations
Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison to sport programs as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager
Assist with daily monitoring, inventory and tracking of all issued equipment/apparel to assigned teams
Assist with the purchasing and receiving of equipment, gear and uniforms for assigned teams
Ensuring student-athlete safety and welfare with respect for equipment through vendor and manufacturing contacts. Knowledge of the safest and technological equipment
Ensuring the athletic department is in compliance with NCAA regulations with respect to equipment
Other duties as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and/or Two (2) plus years equivalent combination of equipment room experience preferred
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with practical, hands-on experience in applying Division I regulations is recommended
Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database functions
Proficient in computer applications relative to the inventory control
Familiarity with all types of equipment, uniforms, and gear
Must possess the ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressures
Preferred
Athletic Equipment Manager Certification Preferred
