Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Department of Creative Entrepreneurship

Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) is seeking an innovative educator and practitioner for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Creative Entrepreneurship. The role involves teaching a 3/3 course load, developing courses in climate entrepreneurship and mixed-media storytelling, and contributing to an interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares students for entrepreneurial careers in the creative industries.

Responsibilities

Teach a 3/3 course load across the undergraduate Creative Entrepreneurship curriculum
Develop and deliver courses in climate entrepreneurship, environmental visualization, circular design, mixed-media storytelling, grant-writing and business development for creatives
Advise and mentor undergraduate students, supporting their academic and professional growth
Maintain an active practice, research agenda, or creative enterprise consistent with the college’s mission
Participate in departmental and college service, including curriculum development, assessment, and community engagement initiatives
Contribute to a culture of inclusion, experimentation, and creative innovation

Qualification

Required

MFA, MBA, or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., entrepreneurship, design, sustainability, environmental studies, fine arts, creative industries, or related discipline)
Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience
Demonstrated experience as an entrepreneur or founder in the creative industries
Evidence of innovative teaching or professional practice that integrates sustainability, design, and creative business strategy

Preferred

Interdisciplinary teaching and practice spanning art, design, technology, and entrepreneurship
Experience developing project-based or community-engaged curricula
Ability to teach using both analog and digital/mixed-media tools for environmental visualization
A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in pedagogy and creative practice
