The resident will provide comprehensive care to patients with complex conditions and participate in various clinical services and educational activities within the community pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized, comprehensive care to patients with complex conditions such as oncology, transplant, inflammatory disease, and HIV/AIDS

Assist in delivery of medication education to patients

Participate in ambulatory care clinic rotations

Perform medication therapy management

Pharmacist-administered immunizations

Perform patient centered dispensing

Participate in community service events

Design, conduct, and present a practice-based residency project at a professional conference

Develop relationship skills needed in Walgreens community- based specialty pharmacy

Educate providers and payers on specialty pharmacy services

Development of collaborative programs to improve patient adherence and outcomes

Enhance existing patient care programs

Complete a teaching certificate program

Serve as preceptor and instructor to pharmacy students at the site and college of pharmacy

Qualification

Doctor of Pharmacy degreePharmacist licenseCertified ImmunizerMedication therapy managementPatient educationTeaching skillsRelationship skills

Required

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education

Ability to obtain pharmacist license within the state of residency within the licensure requirement deadline

Submission of residency application materials to Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS)

Individuals must participate in and adhere to the rules of the ASHP Resident Matching Program

Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire

Preferred
