Controller
VP Supply Corp is a leading value-added wholesale distribution company committed to facilitating pain-free construction and renovation. The Controller will serve as a hands-on leader and strategic architect of the accounting function, managing the accounting team and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while driving process improvements and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
Lead Core Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger, inventory, and cost accounting activities—including receivables, payables, accruals, inventory valuation, vendor rebates, and margin reporting—to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial results
Champion Audit & Lender Readiness: Lead the annual audit and maintain strong relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and lenders. Ensure compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements through disciplined controls and thorough documentation
Develop and Maintain Dynamic Cash Flow Projections: Oversee cash flow planning and forecasting that reflect working capital dynamics and lender reporting needs. Partner with the CFO to optimize liquidity and ensure dependable projections that support daily operations and long-term objectives
Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with operations, purchasing, sales, and senior leadership to align accounting processes with business needs. Serve as a trusted partner and internal resource, providing timely and accurate financial information that supports operational decision-making and business success
Drive Continuous Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Use technology and automation to streamline recurring tasks and increase visibility across departments
Lead Post-Acquisition Integration: Serve as the accounting lead for newly acquired businesses—aligning financial policies, systems, and reporting while ensuring smooth transitions and promoting a unified culture across entities
Develop & Elevate the Accounting Team: Mentor and develop a 10+ person team, fostering capability, accountability, and collaboration. Promote a culture of service, transparency, and continuous improvement grounded in integrity and professionalism
Exemplify Leadership & Professional Maturity: Operate with transparency, integrity, and steady judgment. Balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight, demonstrating composure and professionalism in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
Strengthen Governance & Controls: Enhance internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and documentation practices that balance rigor with operational practicality. Safeguard the integrity of financial data across all branches and business units
Oversee Insurance Programs: Manage corporate insurance programs in collaboration with external brokers and internal stakeholders. Ensure coverage adequacy, policy compliance, and accurate documentation across all entities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting experience with full ownership of the general ledger and GAAP-compliant financial reporting
Experience managing accounting operations in an audited and/or lender-backed organization
Strong understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and rebate recognition principles within an inventory-based or distribution environment
Proven success leading process improvement, automation, or system modernization initiatives
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, develop people, and drive accountability
Preferred
Background in distribution or manufacturing
Experience scaling accounting teams and systems during periods of growth or integration
Proven ability to foster a high-performance, service-oriented culture
