HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC INSPECTOR

NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER is seeking a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for developing checklists and performing inspections to ensure the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

You will develop checklists and utilizes them as a guide for the initial, in progress, mechanical and final acceptance checklists that will cover all aspects of the product overhaul and indicate the acceptance or rejection of items and systems
You will perform initial inspections of various products to identify required repairs to maintain, repair, and overhaul the product
You will utilize a variety of procedural guidelines to assist in developing of applicable standards: NAVFAC P-300, Management of Civil Engineering Support Equipment ; P-307, Management of Weight Handling Equipment
You will identify on an initial ML all parts and materials that are required to complete the repairs that were identified during the operational and diagnostic inspection of the product
You will perform in-progress inspection of products during the repair process

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to possess a current valid United States driver's license
This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
May be designated as essential personnel and required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during, after special emergency situations
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You will be required to possess a current CDL license
You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card (OF-346) that annotates the size and type of vehicles approved to operate to include forklifts rated up to 60,000 pounds
