COMPUTATIONAL SCIENTIST ASSISTANT (2)
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Entry-level Embedded Software Developer for their Engineering and Innovative Technology Development group. The role involves assisting in the development, testing, and deployment of software applications for space applications, along with supporting system-level documentation and testing.

Responsibilities
Assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems
Support meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects
Reports to EITD Software Section Lead
Performs simple and routine software development and testing tasks with standard techniques
Assists more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, testing, analysis, computation methods, and reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
Ability to use various engineering and documentation/analysis software, MS Word, and Excel
Ability to accumulate and analyze data
Strong critical-thinking and interpretive skills to analyze situations, define problems, and develop solutions
Ability to analyze, interpret and display statistical data
Knowledge of software development processes and usage of IDEs for development and testing
Preferred
Embedded Firmware Development experience using advanced microcontrollers and IDEs (e.g. MPLAB, IAR, Keil)
Collaborative Software/Firmware Development experience in small teams
Software/Firmware Development experience for aerospace applications
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology
Experience developing software with programming languages C, C++, C#, Python, and/or Rust
Experience using Visual Studio and/or VS Code
Experience developing/deploying RTOS frameworks
