ADMISSIONS and MARKETING DIRECTOR

Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services is seeking an experienced Admissions and Marketing Director to enhance the center's revenue growth through networking and innovative program planning. The role involves screening prospective admissions, maintaining communication with healthcare professionals, and ensuring quality care while managing costs.

Responsibilities

Performs routine networking visits to physicians, hospital discharge planners, case managers and other healthcare referral sources to present center information, gather resident referrals, and evaluate potential resident admissions that contribute to the center’s overall revenue growth
Demonstrates leadership skills by planning and instituting new and innovative programs in harmony with the overall facility philosophies
Screens all prospective admissions to determine that the delivery of appropriate care will be provided in the long-term care setting
Assesses cost-of-care of prospective admissions appropriate to the level of care as determined by the admitting physician
Provides appropriate forms necessary to request adequate medical information to make decisions regarding admissions
Assists in identifying areas for cost containment while maintaining quality
Stays abreast of changes in Medicare Prospective Payment System
Maintains open lines of communications with the fiscal intermediary and state agencies involved with MDS
Works with billing office to resolve Medicare and/or insurance billing concerns
Coordinate with other facility staff the subsequent authorization of managed care reimbursed patients as required
Communicate with insurance personnel in a timely manner to ensure that adequate reimbursement can be obtained prior to initiation of services
Communicate authorization information to clinical staff to ensure that correct utilization of SNF services is maintained
Receives and processes prospective resident inquiries and maintains inquiry records
Interviews patients and/or resident family members during admission application process
Explains costs of care involved in appropriate levels-of-care as determined or required by the admitting physician
Presents appropriate forms necessary to request adequate medical and social information, which will be returned for review
Serves as liaison between families and hospital discharge planners, social service agencies, and physicians
When appropriate bed is available and all records are in order, communicates patient admitting schedule according to Facility admissions policy
Notifies the family of admission approval, the room number and patient expected time of arrival
Notifies all appropriate Facility departments of pending admission
Greets patient and family at the door upon admission and assists to room
Chairs the Admission Conference meeting for all new admissions
Maintains list of community resources
Works closely with the Unit Directors for input regarding admissions and room changes
Assist with annual staff in-service
Participates in all fire drills by reporting to the Nurses’ Station for instruction
Performs specific chart audits as assigned
Maintains current records of competitor census, occupancy, private rates and service offerings
Participates in annual census and operating budget planning as requested
Participates in census development, marketing meetings, conference calls and planning meetings as scheduled
Assists in planning and instituting new and innovative ideas and programs in harmony with the overall program of the Facility

Required

Licensed or Registered Nurse with valid North Carolina license
BS or BA degree in HealthCare Administration, Social Work or Business Administration, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be willing to work and cooperate with other employees
Must be able to problem solve
Must be able to work under pressure
Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene
Must read, know and follow personnel, department and facility policies
Must be knowledgeable of local, state and federal regulations as relates to admissions, prospective payment and patient care
Must have a valid NC driver's license

Preferred

Demonstrated success in external marketing to physicians, discharge planners and other healthcare referral sources
