Senior Tax Analyst

The Senior Tax Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting across various tax types and jurisdictions, preparing tax documents, maintaining forecasting models, and supporting audits and regulatory inquiries.

Responsibilities

Prepares or reviews a variety of tax related documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations
Prepares / maintains tax forecasting and other analytical models
Assists in the preparation and distribution of tax forms
Responds to notices or audits from states, including preparing materials for submission, coordination over the phone, etc
Researches, interprets, and understands existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms
Modifies work procedures to reflect changes in tax law or code
Coordinates with external advisors and other team members to complete projects and meet deadlines
Performs tax reconciliations and determines liability for accounts, divisions, or business units
Prepares and maintains tax forecasting models, develops tax analytical models using tools such as PowerBl, and helps with other similar analytical projects
Files monthly/quarterly/annual non-income tax returns as required
Conducts and documents reviews of workpapers/returns provided by external advisors
Collaborates with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax reporting
Participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance tax department efficiency
Provides support for M&A integration activities, including tax data consolidation and compliance alignment
Supports annual and quarterly tax provision process

Required

Business or Accounting degree
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a tax-related function, BIG 4 or in-house
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations
Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Demonstrates ability to research tax matters and documentation of findings and recommendations
Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work
Pays attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal and written skills
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Accounting and research skills

Preferred

CPA preferred
Experience multiple tax types including corporate tax, partnership tax, state and local tax, sales & use tax highly desirable
Experience with SharePoint, PowerBi, and other analytical tools preferred
Experience with M&A tax preferred
Experience with tax provision process and tax accounting preferred
