Director of Ecommerce & Marketplace
Tru Fragrance & Beauty is a team of brand creators and partners for retailers, specializing in the fragrance, beauty, and wellness space. They are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of E-Commerce & Marketplace to lead their E-Commerce team, focusing on growing their Amazon and direct-to-consumer businesses while ensuring alignment with brand goals and maximizing profitability.

Responsibilities
Serve as the General Manager for E-Commerce, owning budgeting and reporting of sales, margin, and overall profitability of Amazon, Shopify and other marketplace sales
Develop and execute comprehensive near-term and long-term growth strategies for all E-Commerce platforms, with clear financial, brand building and organizational goals
Collaborate with brand leads to align E-Commerce strategy, including Amazon/marketplace vs Shopify objectives, with broader brand priorities, marketing campaigns, and product launches
In partnership with our Finance team, build annual and monthly forecasts by channel; develop and manage budgets and growth targets; monitor performance and adjust forecasts and tactics in real time
Partner with IT and Finance to ensure compliance, data integrity, and accurate reporting
Identify and appropriately prioritize emerging selling platforms, technologies and other new business opportunities for growth
Lead the Amazon strategy to increase revenue, profitability and market share while maintaining consistent brand presence and positioning
Manage and optimize relationships with Amazon agencies and partners while building our in-house expertise and team to create a best-in-class Amazon business
Oversee Amazon advertising performance in partnership with external agencies, ensuring maximum ROI and efficient ad spend
Maintain alignment with brand marketing teams to understand and influence the impact of off-platform marketing tactics
Work with Operations on FBA strategy, demand planning, and supply chain optimization to support sales goals and margin goals
Stay up to speed on latest Amazon platform requirements, tools and data sources. Maintain and grow network of experts and advisors. Ensure compliance with Amazon’s operational guidelines and develop tactics to improve product listings, content, ratings, and reviews
Appropriately prioritize and resource complementary Marketplace strategies including Walmart and TikTok
Maintain alignment between DTC strategy and tactics with near-term and long-term brand growth objectives
Oversee the end-to-end consumer experience on Shopify Plus, ensuring sites are optimized for conversion, AOV, and retention
Partner with Operations to ensure inventory planning, fulfillment, and logistics are fully aligned with demand
Direct all performance marketing efforts for e-commerce and Marketplace including paid search, Meta/boosted Social
Partner with Marketing on broader paid influencer and affiliate strategy to ensure integrated, omnichannel strategy
Use data-driven insights to continuously refine performance marketing tactics for CAC efficiency and LTV growth
Lead site merchandising, promotions, and UX strategies in collaboration with Brand and Marketing teams
Own the tech stack and digital tools, including evaluating and implementing solutions for personalization, CRM, loyalty programs, and marketing automation
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in e-commerce leadership roles, with extensive Amazon AND DTC brand sales and team leadership experience
Proven track record of owning and growing a multi-brand Amazon FBA business, including experience managing Amazon agency partners and working directly with Amazon and Amazon platform data
Experience developing forecasts, managing budgets and reporting full e-commerce P&L results
Deep expertise in performance marketing and scaling acquisition and retention channels profitably
Strong understanding of e-commerce technology, analytics, and CRM systems
Experience managing third-party agencies and internal teams
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies
