Design
Responsibilities
Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
Prepare preliminary designs for clients
Utilize ASCE, AISC, ACI, and other relevant building codes to produce high-quality, safe, and economical designs
Attend client meetings
Coordinate with construction project managers, architects, civil, and mechanical engineers
Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents, as well as construction
Produce construction-ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to ensure completeness and accuracy
Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
1-3+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction-level structural drawings is required
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages
Engineer In Training (EIT) is highly preferred
