The Actuarial Intern will support actuarial analyses required to estimate expected losses from insurance products and will primarily contribute to the pricing discipline while assisting with data reporting needs.

Responsibilities
Complete updates and enhancements to processes as directed and support individual project research and analysis
Produce and deliver actuarial analysis inputs on individual accounts to support the insurance quote process, in-force book maintenance, and client service deliverables
Develop and maintain data queries in Microsoft SQL Server to transform relational data into reportable data as needed for analytic projects as well as annual, quarterly, and monthly state reporting needs
Assist in improving data infrastructure from existing data sources
Conduct research and analyze competitor filings as needed to support development of new rating rules and monitor competitive market position
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a degree in the field of mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or other similar quantitative field
Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn new concepts and tasks at a reasonable pace
Keen attention to detail

Preferred
Work experience in a professional office environment
Pursuit of actuarial designation through the CAS or SOA
Knowledge of Actuarial principles, techniques, and procedures
Knowledge of available industry data sources
Intermediate knowledge of basic data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of advanced data analysis tools such as SQL (including query writing) and/or Power BI
Knowledge of predictive analytic/modeling techniques
Knowledge of R, Python, or related modeling software
Project management and financial reporting experience
