Responsibilities

Determine how developmental defects associated with known mutations in humans result in defective vascular or lymphatic function
Identify relevant molecular targets, linking cellular mechanisms and defects to disease phenotypes, and small molecule screening to identify therapeutics
Dissect transcriptional regulatory networks required for pericyte development
Conduct genetic analysis of candidate transcription factors to determine how they regulate pericyte specification
Develop and apply cutting-edge approaches, including conditional genetics, CRISPR-based gene editing, single cell molecular analyses, and in vivo time lapse
