Responsibilities

Executing and reviewing production cost simulations, load-flow studies, and contingency assessments using industry-standard tools including PLEXOS, PSS/E, and related power systems files
Steering client engagements from kickoff through delivery, translating model results into strategic and commercially relevant insights
Overseeing analysis of congestion, curtailment risk, system reinforcements, and interconnection constraints to support project siting, valuation, and grid-impact outcomes
Serving as a technical leader, coaching and developing junior modelers, advancing modeling methodologies, and codifying best practices across the team
Engaging actively with commercial leads to scope opportunities, contribute to thought leadership, and support proposal development
Monitoring market rule changes, interconnection reforms, and transmission expansion initiatives to ensure our modeling remains current, credible, and differentiated
Developing and running transmission models using industry-standard software to analyze power flow, contingency analysis, and grid reliability
Advising generation project developers to assess interconnection options, transmission congestion, and grid impact studies
Providing technical support for regional transmission planners by simulating various planning scenarios and analyzing system reliability
Interpreting modeling results to generate actionable insights for clients, delivering clear reports and presentations
Stay up-to-date on regulatory and market developments affecting transmission planning and operations
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including market analysts, policy experts, and engineers

Required

8+ years (Director 10+ years) of experience in a consulting or industry role, with a strong background in Nodal Transmission Modeling
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related field, with significant applied transmission and production cost modeling experience
Mastery of PLEXOS and PSS/E (or equivalent tools), including familiarity with case builds, interface modeling, contingency libraries, and data validation workflows
Proven ability to lead client-facing delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs tailored to complex stakeholder needs
Experience mentoring and developing technical talent, with a collaborative leadership style
Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into crisp commercial messages
Motivation to support business development, including shaping scopes of work and identifying how modeling outcomes drive strategic decision-making
Detailed knowledge of power market operations, ISO/RTO interconnection and planning processes, and evolving regulatory frameworks such as FERC Order 2023
