Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one or small group reading instruction to elementary students, both in English and Spanish as appropriate
Support classroom teachers with literacy-related activities and assignments
Serve as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging student growth and confidence
Track student progress and maintain accurate, confidential records of tutoring sessions
Attend required training sessions if it is applicable and check-ins with program coordinators
Uphold school and college policies regarding professionalism, confidentiality, and conduct
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled as a student at Salt Lake Community College
Must qualify for Federal Work-Study (FWS) funding
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
Passion for education, literacy, and working with children
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Able to pass a background check if required by the school site
