Aerial Foreman

Always establish and maintain an effective and positive relationship with customers and team members
Present a positive and professional image for the company in all dealings with customers, vendors, employees, and the community. Maintains a professional appearance appropriate for the position and environment
Protect the assets of the company and make prudent decisions to mitigate any and all risks that threaten the assets; this includes but is not limited to the security of all company equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials both at all job sites and at the company’s office/warehouse
Adhere to company and Area rules, policies, and procedures for all assigned customer projects
Responsible for the quality of your work and personal conduct, assuring that all company workmanship standards and customer specifications and requirements have been met
Adhere to all safety procedures and rules established for the company, required by OSHA regulations, and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
Participate in safety training programs and adhere to safety procedures at all times
Identify and report potential safety hazards or incidents promptly
Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks
Responsible for assuring that all necessary and required paperwork and documentation is properly, correctly, and promptly submitted both for internal company recordkeeping and for documentation required by customers. This includes, but is not limited to: Daily reports of work accomplished by job. Employee time sheets by job. Receipts for all field purchases. Fuel purchase receipts. Project documentation such as before, during and after photos as well as as-builts
Responsible for use and care of the company’s vehicles and all pieces of company equipment assigned. This includes, but is not limited to: Assuring that all vehicles and pieces of equipment receive appropriate preventative maintenance at the required intervals. Assuring that all vehicles and equipment are visually inspected on a weekly basis for any damage and/or deficiencies. Reporting any possible issues to the leadership team Assuring tools and test equipment is properly maintained and safely stored
Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently. Maintain and organize tools and equipment in proper working condition
Load and unload equipment and materials as required
Must have detailed knowledge of all aerial hardware (i.e., pole attachment brackets, strand cable support system, guyed wires, ground anchors, etc.) required to meet customer’s specifications as well as company standards, pole permits, NESC requirements, etc
Must have the knowledge and ability to install aerial strand and cable between tree limbs and other obstructions; this involves 'throwing' 1-2 lb. weighted rope over elevated cable lines, and tree branches
Must have detailed knowledge and experience for safely and effectively operating vehicle and bucket trucks both for on-road operation and for job-site operation
Must have knowledge and experience for selecting the correct type of ground anchor (based on soil conditions) and utilizing the correct installation technique
Must have knowledge and experience for operating chain hoist to add tension to strand and guy wires
Must have detailed knowledge of and experience for the operation of cable lashing machines (lashers) and other lineman equipment & tools
Must have the ability and experience to climb poles safely and correctly with climbing gear (gaffs and belt)
Must have knowledge and ability for operation, daily maintenance inspections, of all aerial equipment to assure equipment safety and reliability
Must have knowledge and experience of proper cable reel trailer loading and setup
Must have knowledge and experience for pulling out strand messenger and/or cable lines both from the ground and utilizing rollers and bucket trucks
Must have knowledge and experience for installing a traveling ground per OSHA standards prior to installing strand messenger for protection from energizing the strand messenger
Must have knowledge and experience for installing straps, spacers, and pole tags (if specified) to customer specifications
Responsible for reading and understanding design prints\maps and work orders
Responsible for allocating crew for directing and controlling traffic flow in accordance with local D.O.T. guidelines, unless traffic control is sub-contracted in which ase, responsible to assure that the sub-contractor personnel are effectively and correctly controlling traffic
Responsible for being available 24/7 during scheduled on-call rotation
Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and availability, as needed, to accommodate project demands, urgent tasks, and support for team members during peak periods or as the needs of the business dictates

Qualification
Required
Must possess a valid driver's license
Responsible for turning in deliverables and production reports daily
Must set up and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
Punctuality is essential; Arrive at work on time every day limiting unexcused absences
Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and organizing work area, truck, equipment, tools and office location
