Builder Division Manager
Metropolitan Appliance is seeking a Builder Division Manager to lead their builder operations across Single-Family Residential and Multi-Family Residential projects. This role involves strategic leadership and operational excellence to maximize value, profitability, and builder satisfaction while managing a team of Project Coordinators and Territory Account Managers.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategy for expanding the Builder Division, combining strategic growth with a client-first mindset across SFR, MFR, and design/trade market segments
Lead and coach Project Coordinators, providing support in problem-solving, communication and adherence to company policies and procedures
Develop and mentor Territory Account Managers through supportive coaching, KPI alignment, and regular business reviews that emphasize collaboration, accountability and growth
Lead hands-on sales training and mentorship, joining client visits and providing feedback to help the team refine their approach and improve builder conversion rates
Strengthen our presence and reputation in the market by managing visibility through company channels (website, social and bid boards) and representing Metropolitan Appliance at trade and community events
Drive sales growth within the Builder Division by identifying opportunities, strengthening partnerships and aligning team efforts toward sustainable quarterly improvement
Develop and maintain a portfolio CRM, along with using reporting tools, to forecast timelines, track milestones and metrics for all points throughout the sales cycle, and proactively communicate delays or adjustments with the department and leadership team
Evaluate incoming project opportunities to ensure alignment with company goals, capacity, and profitability targets
Coordinate with Sales and Operations Directors to confirm project commitments are realistic, profitable, and deliverable to Metro’s quality standards
Lead post-project reviews to celebrate wins, identify lessons learned and continuously refine our approach
Partner cross-functionally with Dispatch, Warehouse, Accounting, Operations and Service to ensure our builders experience a seamless, professional process from start to finish
Partner closely with Accounting to monitor deposits, credits and collections with transparency and care
Develop and maintain clear, practical KPIs tied to efficiency, profitability and client satisfaction
Review contract language and terms to protect both our business integrity and client experience
Collaborate and build relationships with vendor reps to bring in helpful tools, training, and materials that support the builder team’s success, and organize those resources for the team to easily access
Identify staffing needs and make recommendations for hiring, training, and development
Qualification
Required
Successfully built, implemented, measured, and iterated-upon business growth strategy, processes, and systems that align with overall business goals
Demonstrated experience in builder or construction project management, ideally in appliance, construction, or related trades
Proven leadership ability with a history of recruiting, coaching and developing both sales focused and project support team members in a manner highly aligned with company mission, culture and values
Strong organizational and analytical skills and ability to multitask with a focus on operational excellence
Exceptional communication and relationship building abilities across departments and with clients while maintaining professionalism and a strong executive presence
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with business software and reporting tools; ability to interpret and act on data insights
Knowledge of builder processes, contract compliance and field coordination best practices and general acumen
