Michigan Sugar Company is dedicated to Making Life Sweeter and Creating Growth and Opportunity. They are seeking a Quality Control Technician to analyze and monitor product parameters through sampling and analysis in a production environment.

Food Processing

Responsibilities

Perform basic laboratory functions utilizing standardized equipment, following standardized methods

Accurately log results of analysis on lab forms and entry of data points into various computer programs

Evaluation of material and samples against given standards

Adhere to and promote all food safety system guidelines & practices

Create certificate of analysis for lots produced and verify product meets customer specification

Communicate laboratory analysis with stakeholders to ensure products are kept within tolerance

Compare sample results to specifications and make quality decisions based on those evaluations

Must be able to take inventory of lab supplies and equipment daily

Daily housekeeping of laboratory including general maintenance and light cleaning of laboratory areas

Required

High School Diploma and previous experience in a lab environment

Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software/programs

Excellent ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities

Ability to work well with others in a team environment

Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced and production environment

Ability to quickly solve problems and make decisions

Demonstrate ethics and integrity, display drive and purpose, demonstrate capability to learn, managing self, increasing self-awareness, in alignment with corporate values

Knowledge of SDS and proper chemical handling and usage of required PPE

Ability to stay focused and function with a strong attention to details
