San Juan Unified School District is seeking Counselor Interns for their White House Counseling Center. The role involves assisting in various counseling activities and requires enrollment or completion of a relevant Master's degree program.

Required

Enrollment in a Masters or higher level degree program leading to a degree in marriage, family and child counseling, marital and family therapy, psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology with an emphasis in marriage, family and child counseling or social work with an emphasis in clinical social work from a school, college or university accredited by the Western Association of Schools of Colleges, or an essentially equivalent accrediting agency as determined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences Examiners

Coursework completed or in progress in counseling theory and techniques, assessment and treatment planning, legal and ethical issues, child and elder abuse, substance abuse and dependency, human sexuality, human growth and development, and cultural differences

Practicum completed or in progress in individual counseling in group counseling and in marriage and family counseling

At least one semester of volunteer counseling experience at the White House Counseling Center (recommendation of White House supervisor required)

Completion of a Masters Degree in marriage, family and child counseling, marital and family therapy, psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, counseling with an emphasis in marriage, family, and child counseling, or social work with an emphasis in clinical social work from a school college or university accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or an essentially equivalent accrediting agency as determined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences Examiners

At least one semester of experience as a Counselor Intern I at the White House Counseling Center

Recommendation for advancement by White House Counseling

Must be available work Monday - Friday, up to 8 hours per day

Provide proof of any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties of the position

If providing transcripts, they must be OFFICIAL transcripts as unofficial transcripts are not accepted

If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree /transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university and provide results
