URBN Senior BI Analyst

URBN is a high-growth digital commerce initiative under Anthropologie Weddings, seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to provide data-driven insights. The role involves executing complex analytical projects, translating business questions into actionable insights while ensuring data quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Execute end-to-end delivery of complex analytical projects with minimal direction, ensuring high-quality outputs that drive business decisions
Extract, transform, and analyze data using advanced SQL, demonstrating mastery of query optimization and data manipulation
Conduct deep-dive analyses across trend analysis, product development, merchandising, and customer behavior
Provide rigorous quality assurance of all analyses—both your own work and that of team members—ensuring data accuracy and reliability
Partner with the Analytics Lead and business stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations
Solicit feedback from cross-functional stakeholders, incorporate their input, and iterate on analyses to meet evolving business needs
Design and build dashboards, reports, and visualizations in BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar)
Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to understand data structures, identify data quality issues, and optimize analytical workflows
Document analytical processes, queries, and methodologies to promote knowledge sharing and maintain analytical standards

Required

4+ years of experience in analytics or data science roles with demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects independently
Strong proficiency in SQL with deep experience in complex data querying, manipulation, and analysis (window functions, CTEs, subqueries, joins, query optimization, etc.)
Exceptional QA skills with proven ability to validate data accuracy and debug complex queries—both your own work and others'
Experience with modern BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio
Strong attention to detail with commitment to analytical precision and data quality
Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end with minimal oversight once project scope is defined
Excellent communication skills with ability to solicit stakeholder feedback and translate it into analysis improvements
Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field)
Strong business acumen with ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights

Preferred

Experience in retail, e-commerce, or fashion industry preferred
Strong statistical knowledge is a plus but not required
Specialization in additional tools (Python, dbt, LookML, R, etc.) is a plus but not required
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Google Analytics) is a plus
