Electrician Leader
The Electrician Leader is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the West Los Angeles Medical Center. This position involves leading a team in the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of various electrical equipment, ensuring efficient operations and providing on-the-job training as necessary.

Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, maintains and calibrates a wide variety of electrical equipment
Submits recommendations for mediation to existing equipment to improve overall operations
Relays work instructions received from supervisor to unit workers
Initiates work by designating individual workers to begin immediate tasks
Provides on-the-job training as necessary
Establishes and maintains control over work operations
Assures production output for safe, efficient, effective and economical accomplishment
Ensures that material room has enough electrical material available for workers and tools are available
Adjusts plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work, such as: providing technical instructions and guidance when problems arise; hence, plans work to keep all employees on the work crew engaged
Coordinates with supervisor to ensure proper, current technical data are available
Arranges for required plans, blueprints, materials, tools, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations
Monitors use of parts, components, and new materials for proper application and handling
Reviews reports of deficiencies and items with supervisor to assist in determining if procedures or processes need to be revised or determining if workers are doing the work incorrectly or need additional training
