Group 08-35 | SRP Intern - Microfabrication | Microelectronics Laboratory | Summer 2026

The Microfabrication Summer Intern will work on creating and improving wafer fabrication processes, engaging in hands-on research while collaborating with leading scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities
Create and improve wafer fabrication processes by designing, running and analyzing experiments for processes supporting technologies like superconducting electronics, quantum computing circuits, radiation hardened electronics and charge coupled imagers
Potential focus areas include photolithography, reactive ion etching, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, wafer bonding, wet chemical processing and ion implantation
Qualification
Required
An undergraduate background in physics, chemistry, engineering or statistics
A willingness to work in a cleanroom
Enthusiasm for solving problems
Interest in teaming
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance
U.S. citizenship is required
