Lead Accounts/Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

Provide training and acclimate all incoming AR Specialists to the AR team upon successful completion of their on-boarding provided by the IPM Training Department. This individual acts as a coach/mentor for new hires as they navigate through their probationary period and develop into successful AR Specialists
Partner with the IPM Markets to address account specific questions and concerns. The position will continually monitor unresolved AR to identify trends and solutions that promote a healthier revenue cycle. The Team Lead consistently supports the AR department to promote teamwork and rally the group by demonstrating motivation and enthusiasm to encourage the department to operate at maximum performance levels
Act as the first line of escalation when A/R follow-up efforts do not result in timely resolution. Continually monitors AR Specialists work queues to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner and assigned stratification is being followed
Work with the Contract Management system utilizing this tool to identify opportunities and trends on unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims. Takes necessary follow-up steps with payers to resolve outstanding issues
Resolve accounts assigned in Practice Management Work Queues (such as Late Charge Review and Referral Work Queue) in a timely manner. Approve high dollar adjustments according to AR department guidelines

Required

High school diploma with 3 - 5 years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle
Healthcare (professional) billing, knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, government, managed care and commercial insurances, claim submission requirements, reimbursement guidelines, and denial reason codes
Understanding of the revenue cycle and how the various components work together is required
Knowledge of mainframe billing software (e.g., Cerner, Epic, IDX)
Results oriented with a proven track record of accomplishing tasks within a high-performing team environment
Ability to handle data entry accurately in a high-paced environment
Ability to reconcile data and identify discrepancies
