Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic (12 Month Register)

The Defense Logistics Agency is seeking an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic to work at the New Cumberland Defense Logistics Center. Responsibilities

Tests, analyzes, repairs, reconstructs a wide variety of highly complicated electronic, Automatic Data Processing (ADP), and electro-mechanical equipment; and specialized integrated and programmable systems and components
Modifies, and relocates existing systems to include system layouts as documented in drawings, mechanical, electrical
Accomplishes component repairs and modifications to the micro-chip level
Maintains, repairs, services, and implements modifications on computer controlled material handling systems, components and related communication and data processing support systems
Examples of systems mentioned above: encoders, decoders, interface circuits, serial to parallel data converters, and various input and output devices
Uses blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, program listings, input/output assignment work sheets, manufacturer’s manuals, and other technical guidance material carry out and successfully complete work

Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license
Ability to do the work of an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic without more than normal supervision (SOE): Perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as performing common repairs and replacement on electronic industrial controls equipment found in materials handling equipment
