NSF is seeking a Technician II for Engineering/Plastics who will be responsible for conducting basic testing on plastics and related plumbing products. The role involves performing laboratory work, maintaining workload organization, and assisting senior staff with projects while adhering to safety and health policies.

Responsibilities

Perform basic laboratory work with minimal supervision after each training is completed

Maintaining/organizing assigned workload and meet specific due dates

Buildup and disassembly of pipe and fittings sizes ½”-20” OD

Assist senior staff with ongoing projects as needed

Receive continuous trainings

Cross-train in other lab areas to alleviate the workload when high sample volumes are experienced

Maintain a clean work environment and 6s areas

Assure adherence to all safety and health policies and procedures

Perform other duties as requested

Required

High school diploma/GED required

Good verbal and written communication skills

Highly motivated in completing assignments correctly and on schedule

Great attention to detail

Basic knowledge of PC/Windows software and Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word)

Understanding of basic tool use (wrenches, mallets, drills, saws, etc.)

Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Preferred

Associate degree in scientific discipline and or Trade

Laboratory experience and/or college level laboratory coursework

Familiarity with measuring instruments (caliper, pi tape, ruler, micrometer, balance)

Familiarity with plumbing products

Mechanical aptitude
