Almirall is currently seeking a top legal talent to support various business groups including Market Access, Compliance, and Medical Affairs. The Head of US Legal will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of strategic and tactical projects within a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance and effective legal solutions for the company.

Responsibilities
Serve as legal advisor to Almirall´s affiliate in the USA on strategic and day-to-day matters
Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including contracts for commercial transactions, including consulting and other services, business development, supply and business associate agreements, including particularly, market access agreements, agreements with wholesalers, GPO, PBM, logistic operators, agreements with health care professionals (HCP) and health care organizations (HCO), and with specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies
Advise on government pricing, including price reporting compliance policies and reasonable assumptions documents
Research and advise on proposed and enacted United States federal and state legislation impacting pharmaceutical companies relating to regulatory matters, market access, pricing, reimbursement as well as state drug price reporting and transparency laws and compliance
Advise on data privacy and related applicable laws
Counsel on corporate matters
Build and control a contract repository, including developing and updates of contract templates and playbooks
Train and guide business teams on the use of contract templates, playbooks, relevant legal issues, and good contracting practices
Work collaborative with others in the company to develop, implement and monitor policies, processes and procedures, review business materials (including brand plans, promotions, medical plans, training documents), and educate internal teams, clients and partners on compliance trends
Collaborate with human resources and commercial teams in designing incentive plans to sales reps and other employees
Collaborate with legal and compliance colleagues from the company headquarters seeking harmonization of legal and risk management advice
Prepare and responsibly manage the legal budget
Qualification
Required
JD from an ABA accredited law school
Member of the State Bar or ability to obtain the State qualification within 6 months
Minimum of ten years post JD experience advising on legal matters in the life science space whether in a law firm or in-house in a biopharmaceutical industry
Significant expertise in all areas of US Pharma laws and regulations, including those relating to health regulatory bodies (FDA, HHS, CMS, OCR, and state regulatory bodies), prevention of fraud and abuse, antibribery, antitrust, privacy, product liability and transactional work
Outstanding ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing), sound legal advice to non-lawyers, coupled with a strong understanding of business needs
Advanced contracting and redlining skills with strong attention to detail
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and still meet high quality and timeliness standards
Ability to effectively select and manage outside counsel and adhere to a budget
Preferred
Excellent negotiation, communication, drafting and interpersonal skills and detail oriented
Experience acting as cross-functional legal lead with accountability for all legal advice
Highly adept at resolving challenging legal issues and delivering sound, clear, and practical advice
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key executives and business partners
Strong organizational and time management skills to balance working on multiple projects in parallel
Self-directed individual who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume environment and meet deadlines
Self-motivated, able to work independently and be reliable and responsive
Ability to be flexible and willing to accept new responsibilities as needed
