Responsibilities

Lead and manage the collections team to meet or exceed cash collection targets
Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue balances and implement appropriate collection strategies
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments
Review and analyze aging reports regularly, taking action on delinquent accounts
Collaborate with sales, customer service, and legal to resolve disputed invoices and collection challenges
Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures in line with company risk appetite
Oversee accurate and timely application of customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards)
Ensure daily reconciliation of cash receipts to bank statements and AR ledger
Identify and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash and short payments
Coordinate with the billing team on adjustments, write-offs, and credit memos as needed
Monitor and enhance automation of cash application processes (e.g., lockbox, auto-matching, ERP tools)
Hire, train, and develop AR team members with a focus on performance, accountability, and career development
Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports on collections performance, DSO, and unapplied cash metrics
Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline AR operations and reduce errors
Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and audit requirements related to receivables
Support month-end close activities, including AR reconciliations and reporting

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
7+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, including a managerial role
Strong knowledge of AR processes, including collections and cash applications
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Experience in a high-volume AR environment
Familiarity with B2B collections best practices
Exposure to automation tools
