Supervisory Attorney Advisor (Self-Help Center)

Responsibilities

Along with the Office of the Family Court Director and the Family Court Management Team, shares responsibility for the overall effective accomplishment of the mission of the Center and the Family Court Operations Division
Provides direct supervision of all unit employees; plans, delegates, and evaluates work to be accomplished by subordinates; and sets and adjusts work priorities
Ensures that all Self-Help Center procedures comply with requirements of all relevant statutes, regulations, rules and business practices
Monitors and ensures the accuracy of caseload, workload, and performance data reports and statistics
Evaluates policies, procedures, practices, etc., and makes recommendations to the Family Court Supervisory Attorney for improvement
Participates in conferences and meetings to enhance the development of the Center
Collaborates with managers within Family Court Operations Division and other divisions of the D.C. Courts, as well as with other public and private agencies, as needed, to coordinate shared work-related programs and objectives of the court

Qualification

Juris Doctor degreeD.C. Bar membershipFamily Law experienceSupervisory experienceManagement Training

Required

A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
A member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar
A minimum of three (3) years of legal experience, of which one year (1) must be in Family Law
Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Documentation of education (copy of J.D. degree or transcript)
Proof of active D.C. Bar membership
Management Training Documentation (if applicable)
Background and security investigation are required
A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed
