Responsibilities
Inspect various types of ammunition explosives and ammunition components to determine acceptance within specifications, plans, and directives
Review technical documents to determine specifications for inspections
Verify the calibration of gages and equipment
Perform inspections of ammunition components and supply items
Identify corrective actions to improve the quality of processes and products
Qualification
Required
Ability to do the work of an Explosives Operator Work Inspector without more than normal supervision
Perform common preliminary inspections of ammunition components
I can readily recognize deteriorated, damaged, or unserviceable items
Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed
Ability to Inspect
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Dexterity and Safety
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license
Obtain certification requirements outlined in AMC-R 350-4 - Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations
Complete a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
