Responsibilities

Provide legal expertise, business counsel, and training to NNS’s Contracts and Pricing and Business Management organizations on all aspects of government contracting including fiscal law, changes, data rights, cost and pricing issues, false claims, cost accounting standards, and the nuances of sole source contracting
Provide business-centric counsel to a broad group of business partners. Train, mentor, and partner with colleagues and clients across the business, at all levels of expertise
Build a broad and deep understanding of significant legal considerations and seamlessly integrate practical business advice into legal counsel with an emphasis on positioning the business to avoid potential problems in addition to meeting day-to-day challenges
Provide strategic and day-to-day legal and business counsel to NNS’s leadership team, including the Vice President level
Draft, review, and advise on commercial supplier agreements, teaming agreements, letters of intent, memorandums of understanding, non-disclosure agreements, supplier terms, and similar agreements adjacent to, but outside of, the traditional instruments of government contracting
Provide assistance with other significant NNS matters and assume additional law department responsibilities as needed; additional duties may include advising functions such as operations, facilities, intellectual property, or ethics

Qualification

Juris DoctorGovernment Contracts lawVirginia State Bar membershipCommercial contractingSecurity clearance

Required

Juris Doctor Law degree
9 years of experience

Preferred

JD and Virginia State Bar membership (or the ability to obtain state corporate counsel license)
9 years of experience as a practicing attorney with substantial experience in Government Contracts law
Experience in commercial contracting and counseling
Must have active security clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance
