The Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice position in the Division of Geriatrics involves providing comprehensive care for older adults, supervising medical learners, and contributing to departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient care for older adults, addressing complex medical, cognitive, and functional conditions
Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and other learners in both clinical and didactic geriatric settings
Participate in departmental quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including nursing, pharmacy, social work, and rehabilitation—for optimal care of older adults
Contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and geriatric-focused academic programs
Qualification
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Fellowship trained and board certified or board-eligible in Geriatrics, and board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, quality improvement projects, or curriculum development in geriatric care
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
