ArcGIS Developer

ATC is seeking a technical GIS developer for the Georgia Dept. of Transportation (GDOT) to configure and develop custom Esri ArcGIS applications. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and debugging GIS software while collaborating with IT team members and ensuring adherence to best practices in development.

Responsibilities

Develops customized web applications, webservices, mobile, and enterprise solutions
Develops geoprocessing and GIS web services
Develops GIS web editing/mapping applications
Conducts performance, unit, system, integration, and quality assurance testing of applications
Maintains existing applications/services
Upgrades and migrates existing applications/services to current version/systems architecture
Provides end user support and creates support documentation
Works closely with other developers and architects
Estimates work effort and proposes/designs development solutions

Required

Experience in configuring and developing custom Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 10x, 11x applications
Proficiency in Javascript API, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Portal/Online/Hub, and Field Maps
Experience deploying applications within SharePoint web sites
Experience integrating custom GIS solutions within .NET based applications
Experience with GDOT databases (Oracle/Oracle Exadata, SQL Server) and data warehouse (Oracle Exadata)
Experience with enterprise reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Data Visualizer, or Power BI
Application programming/development, implementation, and support experience
Ability to design, code, test, modify, and debug computer software and applications utilizing Esri ArcGIS
Experience researching and analyzing program or systems problems and providing resolutions
Ability to complete system documentation
Ability to translate business requirements/user stories into development activities
Ability to write secure, commented, and maintainable code
Experience working in a team environment with IT team members (database, network, server, etc.)
Ability to interact with management, architects, developers, and business units
Familiarity with internal SLDC, standards/guidelines, and accepted best practices for developing solutions
Experience developing customized web applications, web services, mobile, and enterprise solutions
Experience developing geoprocessing and GIS web services
Experience developing GIS web editing/mapping applications
Experience conducting performance, unit, system, integration, and quality assurance testing of applications
Experience maintaining existing applications/services
Experience upgrading and migrating existing applications/services to current version/systems architecture
Experience providing end user support and creating support documentation
Ability to estimate work effort and propose/design development solutions

Local candidates who can demonstrate the capability to work a hybrid work schedule

GDOT will reimburse authorized travel expense lodging and meals.
GDOT will reimburse authorized travel use of a personal vehicle.
The Department has 13 holidays, which consultants are not allowed to work nor make up any time for those holiday weeks without management's approval.
Consultants are not to take extended leave during their first year of service (e.g. greater than 1week).
Consultant must have cell phone which can be used for business calls.
GDOT does not provide free parking. All routine commuting expenses are the responsibility of the consultant.
