Network Engineer - CCNA or CCNP (ONLY LOCALS)
ATC is seeking a Network Engineer to provide network support for enterprise networks within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The role involves planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure, along with managing vendor relationships and ensuring network security compliance.

Responsibilities
Provide support for the Enterprise networks such as COPA Net, Keystone Net; manage vendors that support management of the Enterprise networks
Knowledge of the installation, configuration, and maintenance, and management of network infrastructure consisting primarily of switches, routers, firewalls, Silver Peak SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless infrastructure, cellular-based appliances, and all associated hardware and software
Performs network management functions utilizing various industry tools to monitor, test, verify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network problems by working with users, service providers, business partners, and others to resolve problems
Act as a vendor liaison and interfaces directly with all the technical vendors supplying data network services to Commonwealth agencies
Understand the design of LAN/WAN network architecture including:
• Network bandwidth analysis and capacity planning
• Detailed specifications and schematic engineering drawings for network enhancements and modifications
Assists in the execution of planned deployments and upgrades and supports change management efforts within the edge networking group
Assists widespread events/ incidents to customers and other networking teams as needed
Proactively identifies and troubleshoots issues related to complex network problems and works them to resolution, including communication to other networking teams
Evaluates current and future Enterprise network needs and works with the Enterprise architect and Enterprise Service Delivery team to prepare technical solutions and recommendations
Reviews the development of configuration standards
Ensures that all existing and new networks meet or exceed the security requirements set forth by OA
Utilize network documentation including but not limited to network diagrams, spreadsheets, and vendor documentation for troubleshooting purposes
Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
Maintains an understanding of various routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
Maintains a working knowledge of network monitoring tools and automation
Responsible for assigned roles within the Enterprise Change Management system to include; submitting and reviewing change requests, as well as, communicating these scheduled events through the Network Notifications process
Be familiar with ITIL 4 framework and best practices
Understand the Service Management Practices such as change management, problem and incident management
Coordinates Enterprise change management efforts with vendors, Delivery Centers, Agencies and other Enterprise network teams
Participates in Service Now trouble ticket resolution and reporting
Ensures that assigned Enterprise Network Services networking trouble tickets or incidents follow established processes and are fully documented within Service Now
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, vendors, and business partners
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Provide technical support for planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure
Communicate well and be a highly technical and eager individual with numerous years of experience in a large environment
Knowledge of the installation, configuration, and maintenance, and management of network infrastructure consisting primarily of switches, routers, firewalls, Silver Peak SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless infrastructure, cellular-based appliances, and all associated hardware and software
Perform network management functions utilizing various industry tools to monitor, test, verify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network problems
Act as a vendor liaison and interface directly with all the technical vendors supplying data network services to Commonwealth agencies

Operate telephones/cell phones
Operate a PC and peripherals/servers and network components
Operate motor vehicles and maintain a valid PA driver's license
Excellent oral and written communications skills using the English language
Read and comprehend technical literature
Lift equipment up to 40 pounds
Analyze/solve complex technical issues
Stay current with new and emerging network-related trends and technologies
Provide outstanding customer service
Network Switching required 4-5 years
Network Routing required 3-4 years
Preferred
CCNA desired 2-3 years
CCNP beneficial 1-3 years
SD-WAN beneficial 2 years
