Responsibilities
Researching detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non-detained dockets
Providing administrative support to managers, supervisors, or staff members by assisting in the day-to-day management of the office's activities
Summarizing and tabulating detainee information from various reports and utilizing a variety of databases and automated systems
Generating and verifying detainee reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, data quality and create and revise spreadsheets charts, graphs, and presentations
Exercising quality control over bond paperwork
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs
Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see http://www.sss.gov/)
One-year probationary period may be required
A pre-employment drug test will be required

You must demonstrate you meet the Minimum Qualification Requirements and the Typing Requirement as noted below
Minimum Qualifications For GS-05: Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Performing recordkeeping and reporting, Compiling, maintaining, and updating automated records, Responding to requests for procedural information
OR Education Substitution: You must have successfully completed four years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite
OR Combination Of Education And Experience: You must have an appropriate combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-05 grade level
Minimum Qualifications For GS-06: Specialized Experience: You must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Processing individuals arrested or detained by law enforcement officials, Performing file searches and assembling documentation, Responding to routine requests and issues regarding legal or law enforcement policies, practices and procedures
Typing Requirement: In addition to meeting the minimum qualification requirements, you must show possession of the ability to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample, with three or fewer errors
All qualification requirements must be met by the cutoff dates listed under additional information
If you are claiming education as any part of your qualifications for this position, you must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned
Special Instructions for Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
