Responsibilities
Delivery of product functionality expansions and deployments to additional facilities worldwide
Day-to-day management of development teams & team members (:12 team members total)
Collaborate with Manufacturing personnel to scope future capabilities and new products as required
Oversee design and development work with the assistance of product-specific Product Managers
Manage engagement with international manufacturing sites as product footprint expands globally
Manage product metrics for consumption by both IT management and Manufacturing management as means to assess value
Maintain steady rolling backlog of product features in conjunction with business partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related manufacturing field, Masters Degree preferred
8+ years of knowledge of software development
2+ years of people leadership experience in application development
Understanding of Agile methods & best practices
Data-driven mindset for decision-making and prioritization
Internal & external management skillset for managing cross-team capabilities
Clear communication style both laterally to business partners as well as upwards to management
Ability to develop deep understanding of product functionality to provide high-level guidance to development teams
Ability to travel occasionally (:1-2 monthly) to SE Michigan Ford Manufacturing facilities to meet with plant personnel & end users
Preferred
Technical background in MongoDB & Big Query (or other noSQL technology)
Technical background in Software Dev, ideally web development (javascript/java springboot)
Technical background in cloud deployment/CI/CD technologies (GCP, Jenkins, Tekton, etc)
Manufacturing background & understanding of manufacturing processes
