Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include: •Postgres Data Engineer

The TechOps team scope at Nodal Exchange covers all data services within the organization including production database management, data transformation processes, reporting infrastructure, test data management, data modeling, and more. Across these areas, Nodal seeks to use a project delivery model in which the TechOps team takes responsibility for identifying needs and opportunities and designing solutions, then implementing and deploying them, following up with ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement

Nodal seeks candidates who have significant experience with technology delivery and database administration but seek to advance their career by deepening their skills across infrastructure/networking and continuously improving Nodal’s data architecture

This candidate will be responsible for providing Data support to teams across the company

The candidate is also expected to provide responsive database operational support and modernize data warehouse and reporting solutions

You will be part of a team with cross-divisional responsibility for Data Warehousing, Data Self Services, Big Data and Data Science within a regulated environment

The candidate is expected to be able to fully understand all components of data architecture (physical/logical replication, monitoring, provisioning, performance tuning at both SQL/system levels, etc.)

This candidate will be responsible for providing Data support to teams across the company

The candidate is also expected to provide responsive database operational support and modernize data warehouse and reporting solutions

You will be part of a team with cross-divisional responsibility for Data Warehousing, Data Self Services, Big Data and Data Science within a regulated environment

Required

Minimum 4+ years' experience with database administration including operation, administration (patching, backup/restore, replication), and SQL performance tuning

Expert understanding of how database internals function (Write-Ahead Logging, Point-in-time recovery, database optimizers, query planning and optimization, etc.)

Strong Linux experience

Excellent communication skills

Experience using JIRA, Confluence

Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, MIS, Mathematics, or related field

Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS' data offerings

Up to date with latest developments in database technology (PostgreSQL or whichever RDBMS they work with most frequently)

Experience building ETL Pipelines

Capable of being part of a team with on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies
