In this role, you will provide legal advice and support for commercial transactions, oversee litigation matters, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations affecting ChemTreat’s operations.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and support for commercial transactions, including direct sales, distribution, procurement, licensing, and various collaboration agreements

Oversee litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel and subject matter experts to mitigate risk and achieve favorable outcomes

Draft, review, and negotiate high value and complex commercial and non-commercial contracts for multiple business segments

Monitor and interpret new state, federal, and international laws and regulations for applicability to ChemTreat’s operations; proactively advise business partners on implications and strategies

Translate complex legal requirements derived from new laws and regulations into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal audiences and business teams

Assist in developing and implementing business-level controls and internal processes to ensure compliance and support ChemTreat’s commitment to ethical business practices

Identify and help resolve compliance issues and errors, reporting findings and recommended solutions to management

Deliver training regarding compliance, legal processes, and various areas of law to internal stakeholders

Coordinate and track general legal advice across platforms, ensuring effective risk management and business alignment

Required

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar

4-7 years of experience as an attorney at large firms or litigation boutiques

Proven track record advising on legal matters in a dynamic, international business setting, preferably in regulated industries

Excellent contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal audiences and consider business priorities in legal strategy

Ability to develop, implement, and improve business processes and internal controls

Solid business acumen, sound judgment, and the courage to advocate for positions that protect ChemTreat from unacceptable risk
