Responsibilities
Support engineers in the design, development, and testing of technical solutions and research equipment
Inspect, modify, and maintain existing designs, prototypes, and experimental systems
Perform research, data collection, and documentation to support ongoing studies
Operate and troubleshoot various engineering tools and laboratory instruments
Run diagnostics, tests, and calibrations; record and interpret technical results
Use modeling and design software to draft or update prototypes based on team feedback
Conduct technical investigations and experiments in collaboration with engineers and researchers
Analyze operations and make recommendations for process or design improvements
Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain an organized, safe work environment
Provide technical support and coordination with government engineering staff and other project personnel
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or a closely related field
1 year with a Master's degree
4 years with a Bachelor's degree
5+ years with an Associate's degree
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with modeling and design software (e.g., CAD tools)
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation
Effective communication under pressure and in team settings
Knowledge of engineering terminology and lab safety procedures
Preferred
Relevant certifications or licenses preferred
