Adult Program Coordinator, CSD Works (Reno)

Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) is dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities in accessing essential services. The Adult Program Coordinator leads initiatives to promote self-advocacy and holistic well-being through case management, community partnerships, and workshops.

Responsibilities

Conduct participant intakes, needs assessments, and individualized goal planning to identify barriers and service needs
Provide referrals and coordinate access to employment, healthcare, housing, and social services
Offer ongoing case management and follow-up to ensure continuity and success of participant support
Address participant concerns using empathy, active listening, and cultural humility
Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and data in alignment with program and compliance requirements
Facilitate workshops on independent living, financial literacy, employment readiness, and self-advocacy
Develop and adapt accessible educational materials that meet the diverse needs of adult learners
Support participants in connecting to vocational training, job development, and skill-building opportunities
Gather and incorporate participant feedback to enhance workshop relevance and effectiveness
Build and maintain relationships with local service providers, employers, and community organizations
Collaborate with agencies and stakeholders to improve access and coordination of services for adults with disabilities
Represent CSD Works and the Access to Services Program at community events, meetings, and outreach activities
Support efforts to strengthen public awareness and promote equitable access to resources statewide
Track participant outcomes, service utilization, and progress toward goals
Assist in implementing evaluation tools and gathering data for program reports and funding compliance
Identify trends, gaps, and challenges in service delivery and recommend improvements
Contribute to quarterly and annual reports by summarizing activities, outcomes, and success stories
Maintain required certifications and trainings (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, Mandated Reporter) as directed by the Program Manager
Follow organizational policies and funding guidelines to ensure all program activities meet compliance standards
Safeguard participant confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all service coordination
Support implementation of risk management procedures and report any compliance or safety concerns
Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and organizational goals

Required

Knowledge of adult learning principles, independent living, and community resource systems
Understanding of program coordination, case management, and service delivery processes
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Skilled in maintaining accurate program documentation, tracking data, and assisting with evaluation activities
Ability to work collaboratively with service providers, agencies, and community organizations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and presentation delivery
Competency in developing accessible and inclusive materials for adult participants
Working knowledge of data collection and reporting tools to support program evaluation and continuous improvement
Demonstrated cultural and linguistic competency when working with diverse populations, including Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing adults
Commitment to modeling CSD's mission, values, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and community empowerment
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Education, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in program coordination, case management, or direct services with adults
Ability to communicate effectively in American Sign Language (ASL) required or willingness to achieve ASL proficiency within the first year of employment

Preferred

Experience facilitating workshops or community-based trainings preferred
Experience working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, or Disabled adults strongly preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, Planner, etc.); experience with learning or case management systems
