Body Technician
Cornhusker International Trucks, Inc. is hiring a full-time Body Shop Technician to join their team. The role involves diagnosing and repairing damaged equipment, as well as performing maintenance repairs on trucks and trailers, while leading apprentice technicians and maintaining technical skills.

Responsibilities
Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders, work order, and Body Shop Managers estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons
Adjust, replace, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment (e.g. sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/ panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.)
Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturer’s repair process
Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Tear down and inspect for additional or hidden repairs
Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time
Lead work of any apprentice technicians and maintain ASE certifications
Diagnoses and repairs for all damaged equipment along with fundamental maintenance repairs to tractors and trucks using well-established procedures to restore equipment back to original state
Able to perform safe and meaningful welding practices to include aluminum
Installs and removes decals, as necessary
Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces, as appropriate, such as radiator replacements, CAC and Condenser replacements as needed
Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts
Road tests vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle
Raises equipment using hydraulic jacks
Inspects, repairs and maintains general trailer structural and suspension systems
Maintains accurate, updated maintenance records
Other duties as required
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience in Truck or Automotive Body shop repair
Experience in Fiberglass repair to repair vehicles to company standards to include panel repairs, straightening and filling when required
High school education or GED
In-depth knowledge of all hand, air and power tools required for this industry
Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures
Clean Driving Record
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must complete a background check
Preferred
Welding, suspension, framework experience a plus OR willing to learn/train
ASE Certifications; Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair and State Vehicle Inspector
