Responsibilities

Research and develop power electronic circuitry and controls
Understand existing power systems—their capabilities, drawbacks, risks, and needs
Contribute to developing new power electronics designs

Required

Candidates who are in the process of earning a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline will be considered
Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance
U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred

Experience or familiarity in a subset of the following areas is desired:
Programming: Fluency with high-level languages such as Python or MATLAB
Algorithm development: Exposure to developing, implementing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms and concepts
Simulation tools: Familiarity with power electronics tools such as Simulink, Ansys, SPICE, or SABER
Laboratory skills: Hands-on experience in circuit design and testing in a lab environment
Hardware expertise: RF and high-frequency hardware familiarity
Soft skills: Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and capacity to work independently for portions of the summer
Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills in technical environments
