Farmingdale State College is inviting applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Civil Engineering Technology Department starting in Fall 2026. The role involves developing and delivering undergraduate and possibly graduate courses in various areas of Civil Engineering Technology, engaging in research, and participating in service activities such as student advisement and community engagement.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver courses, primarily at the undergraduate level, in multiple areas of Civil Engineering Technology, including mechanics, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, and/or transportation engineering

Teaching may also be required at the graduate level in related topics

Participate in student advisement, recruitment, leading student clubs and competitions, and other school and college activities

Engage with the region's private and public constituents and develop an externally funded research program

Demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching

Contribute to the maintenance of ETAC/ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree program in Civil Engineering Technology

Conduct scholarship in Civil Engineering or a closely related field

Participate on committees as part of the service component of the workload
