The Mechanical Engineering intern will assist in the design and development of mechanical hardware, focusing on tasks such as analysis, testing, and prototyping under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Assist in design and development of Nordco’s equipment and related components

Use Creo to complete design improvement and corrective action projects

Update product models and drawings for other projects of various difficulties within the Engineering Department

Work closely with the Engineering Department to support Production and other manufacturing initiatives

Utilize basic computer software to develop or maintain spreadsheets, databases, documents, and to communicate with various departments within the organization

Acquire, plot, and analyse data with the assistance from a mentor

Build relationships with people within the organization to help complete tasks

Other job duties as assigned

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

GPA of 3.0+

General Mechanical design skills

Experience with design software, Creo preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

The ability to develop and maintain relations

The ability to maintain confidentiality

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of different situations

A high degree of adaptability and flexibility to operate in a fast paced work environment

Ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds

Ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted

Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls

The employee is required to talk and hear

Normal correctable vision is required

Preferred

Experience with design software, Creo preferred
