Cables Manufacturing Engineer - Level 2 OR 3 - 2nd Shift - R10211872
Northrop Grumman is a leader in technological advancements, inviting candidates to join their Cables Team as a Cables Manufacturing Engineer. The role involves designing manufacturing processes and ensuring compliance with regulations while working on cable production and improvements.
Responsibilities
Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling
Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
Creating cable MES build plans using templates and desktop procedures
Creating in-process change records on cable builds
Troubleshooting and working Cause/ Corrective Actions
Creating design change cable build plans
Up-rev MES plans when new cable drawing releases
Working process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering +2 years of relevant experience (Level 2)
Bachelor of Science in Engineering +5 years of relevant experience; Masters Degree + 3 years of experience (Level 3)
Experience with cable and wire harnesses
Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Attention to detail and adept at managing competing priorities
Must be able to work 2nd shift (2pm-11:30pm)
Preferred
Active DoD security clearance of Secret or above
Capital SW/Cable Foam Board experience
Experience working with MES
Familiarity with SAP, Teamcenter and/or Solumina
