Responsibilities

Define and implement Symetra’s captive strategy, including product positioning, pricing, and distribution
Effectively communicate and own the monitoring of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to keep Symetra ahead
Represent Symetra in industry panels, conferences, and forums
Grow Symetra’s captive market presence by building relationships with brokers, TPAs, consultants, and captive managers
Present Symetra’s solutions with clarity and credibility to clients and industry partners
Drive new business opportunities while ensuring profitability and client retention
Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and sales teams to ensure financial success
Communicate financial performance, risks, and exposures to internal and external partners
Lead captive program reporting with transparency and accuracy
Build and lead a cross-functional team focused on captive growth, including distribution, underwriting, and analytics
Provide coaching, mentorship, and succession planning to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture

Required

10+ years in stop loss insurance, with at least 5 years in the captive space

Strong presentation skills with experience engaging executive audiences and industry groups
Strong relationship building and management with clients and internal partners
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or related field required
